This trend reflects Ireland’s strategic investment in sectors like pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and information technology. Historically, Ireland’s export profile has evolved from agriculture-based exports to a heavy reliance on high-tech industries, bolstered by favorable corporate tax rates, a skilled workforce, and strong ties to multinational companies. This shift mirrors broader global trends of advanced economies increasingly focusing on high-value technological goods.
